Rob and Tom's Pirogue Project
These are pictures, in chronological order, of the Louisiana styled Pirogue that was built while my friend Rob from South Africa was here in April and May of 2002.  This pirogue was built over 5 weeks in our spare time while not sightseeing, paddling or sailing.  We actually spent about 12 days, working a couple of hours each day, to complete this project so it is a little rough in places but we are thrilled with the final product.  Total cost was about 300 dollars using marine ply.  It paddles/handles like a dream. In many ways we like this boat more than the many canoes we have paddled in the past.

Rob loves mixing epoxy - his rule is 5 minutes mixing for each pump or stop when it starts smoking, whichever comes first :)
